It all depends on what type of games you like.
I only have a few games for the Wii so far, but i think they're all great.
Aside from Wii Sports (Which is a great game in itself) I've got:
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (GREAT game!) Very time consuming though!
Splinter Cell: Double Agent which isn't bad, but the default controller scheme is a bit annoying.
Rayman: This game is fun but a bit repetitive. As you play you unlock all the mini games & can play them multiplayer with your family/friends. That's fun!
Red Steel: This one is fun! The default controller scheme takes a little getting used to.
Disney's Cars: Fun game! I like using the Wiimote as the steering wheel.
Aside from those games there are a lot of virtual console games that are taken from classic consoles (i.e. NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, N64, TurboGrafix16) that are all fun. Most of those require you have the classic controller adapter, though.
I haven't gotten it yet, but Wii Play looks like a lot of fun! (And if you can find a copy of it they usually come with an extra controller! 49.99 for the game & the controller of equal value is included for no additional charge! Or 49.99 for the control & the game is free.... however you want to look at it!)
I also hear that Trauma Center is a fun game to play, and the Wario game too. They've got a ton of great games coming out too. I would suggest trying to rent the games before you buy them to see if they're games you like! That's usually the best way when you are unsure about a game. :-)
Hope this helps! Enjoy the Wii! :-)

Wii Sports comes with the system so it's not worth mentioning, besides that fact that Wii Play comes with a controller, I don't think it's worth the money. Zelda is really cool, if you are into Zelda games, Also downloading old content is really cool if you have a gamecube controller.
I am looking forward to playing Sonic Secret Rings, game looks great. I also look forward to playing Tiger Woods golf. I heard Elebits is fun but not long lasting.

Im not yet fortunate to own a wii, but many friends have them. I have not met one person who didnt like Rayman, they said it was loads of fun. I do have trauma center for the ds, and a couple of friends said that its much better on the wii. I love anything Zelda, and Wario Ware is alot of fun with micro games.
If you dont have enough wii motes yet Id recommend Wii play. Its an extra wii mote plus 9 mini games for 49.99. Great deal if you ask me.
