Robbi there is no doubt the new Iraqi government would be staunch allies of Iran this leads to serious consequences for the entire world.

World war 3
Iran would likely take control of Iraq and start a genocidal rampage. They would then have the oil supply of Iraq and would threaten Saudi Arabia as well. World petroleum prices would skyrocket. America would have to take action, and although the UN is weak, in time they would have to agree. We would then fight a war on a much wider scale against a new Islamofascist empire, at the cost of at least 100 thousand American lives.
So much for the Democratic cut and run strategy.
