You have the right to ask for anything! if you get it or not is another thing!

If you are not to be induced until Weds I would bet on the fact that you will go into labour before that ! keep busy and active, I sympathise that it seems like a lifetime but just think by this time next week you will have a beautiful little bubby in your arms!!

Best of luck X

hi there, congrats by the way, when i was pregnant with my first i too didn't want to be induced and asked if they could help me along as naturally as possible while monitoring me. I had the stretch and sweep on the Friday and went into labour on the Saturday at 12 days over. if your in good health and the baby is thriving i cant see why you need to be induced so soon. Defiantly express your feelings to your midwife. i wish you the best of luck for a spontaneous labour xxx

yeah, I ould ask your midwife, they normally offer to do this before you are due to be induced. I had a sweep when about 7 days overdue, it is not painful but it didnt work for me, my little one liked it in there !! I had to be induced in the end, not the ideal but has to be done as the placenta stops working efficiently after 14 days overdue. The induction went ok, a prostaglandin pessary then another about 10 hours later, I went into labour after the second and had my first baby with 2 hours of labour ! Good luck and ask for a sweep it works for a lot of women xxx

weds is long way away you could have had baby by then, you can get a pill to start u off before getting the drip inducement,
the sweep could also have u there waiting and inducing would still need to go ahead ,most hospitals like to get you started first thing so the sweep would delay but if you ask it won't hurt .

Ask away sweetheart. They usually offer you a sweep at around 41 weeks anyway. I was due to have one on the Monday morning when I would have been 41+1. My daughter arrived on the Sunday just to spite them. I didn't have an induction booked at all.

Good luck, with your impending birth and congratulations on your soon to be newborn! I hope it all goes well for you and you go into labour naturally.

If you want a natural labor, try your best not to be induced. But keep in mind that there are potential dangers for your baby if it stays in too long as well. Try walking a lot, having lots and lots of sex (bonus for your hubby!! LOL), nipple stimulation (manually with your fingers, or a breast pump), and all the other natural things that are supposed to work to induce labor. IF you are induced it can make the labor much more intense and painful. If you try natural, try using what's called "visualization." Think of your cervix as a flower that's blooming every time you have a contraction. Visualize your muscles relaxing and kind of "will" the baby thru the birth canal!
Good luck!!!!!!

being induced is not a big deal. So many think it is. It simply tells the body, ok we're ready to have this baby since you can't make up your mind about it. Everything is the same when induced, except, you don't have the midnight or 1 am surprise run to the hospital. You are there and it happens gradually. I "went into labor" with my first child and it was a freakin' nightmare. I was induced with the last 2 and much prefered it. No worries, no guess work, and you are safely at the hospital should something go wrong.

in case you prefer to be prompted, do no longer ask a midwife. you are able to desire to circulate to a physician. yet extremely, it relies upon on the point of view of the wellbeing practitioner. some will bring about after forty weeks, some prefer to attend a week or perhaps 2. all of it boils right down to no remember if or no longer they sense that your uterus is a hospitable environment on your toddler. it is no longer a rule that when forty weeks it extremely is a threat to be pregnant. tell a physician your concerns. in basic terms keep in mind that an prompted exertions could be fairly painful and actually demanding on your toddler. After being prompted with cytotec for my first i might unquestionably in no way positioned my new child with the aid of that returned. THe contractions replace into so demanding and your toddler quite can finally end up being deprived of oxygen in the event that they get too close mutually and characteristic distinctive peaks, like mine did.

I would definitely insist on having a sweep well before then, I did with my first and the midwife sent me up to the hospital to get one the very next day.

Good luck! (it shouldn't be too long now)
