The Parade in Dublin is getting Better every Year it is Stupendous.I cant Comment on the American Parade in NYC as i have only seen bits of it on Television. Certainly the Dublin one is very Grand it Attracts a Huge Amount of Visitors from Overseas every Year . After it is over the People Retire to the Pubs to drink to St Patrick and there is Certainly a few Fights afterwards sometimes but not as bad as some People make out here. Jane with the Red Nose Didnt they try to Celebrate St Georges Day on Eastenders once with mixed reactions. Perhaps you can pose that Question on St Georges Day yourself why it is not Celebrated as much.I think any Saints Day is a Good excuse to have a Party or a Parade with everyone Dressed up as StGeorge even though you might be an Athiest.

I'll have to guess : True?
Sadly, I wouldn't know :( Have never been in Ireland at this time of year. But you sure do throw a great Halloween! NYC used to put on a fairly good time, but I doubt it has anything to match yours.
Have a fun St Patricks!

I have been in Benidorm today at a German bar/restaurant and they are advertising St Patricks Day! Potato and leek soup, some sort of stew with beer and loads of Guinness! Very strange when they are speaking with a German accent!
