I have seen so many acts or violence, where people fight just because they can. Is that all the world is, do we have to kill people so we can live in peace together? What the hell is that? If somethings not wrong with that I don't know is.

We all have a choice in everything we do. To fight is a choice and not to fight is another. I think you could stop the violence (or at least lower the levels of it) if people were taught other choices to pick from. Unfortunately you'd have to teach the whole world at the same time and the world wide quality of education is poor as it is already.

Well, the question is vague.

No, it is not in PEOPLE's nature to commit violent acts. This is mainly because PEOPLE are highly evolved intellectual beings. PEOPLE do have an instinct to fight, however, especially such things as illness, ignorance, the stagnation of civilized progress, etc.

The thing that many PEOPLE choose to ignore, however, is that WE ARE ANIMALS. We have a taxonomic label that puts us as a species under the Kingdom Animalia.

Therefore, we will be bound (as SHANE has said) by certain biological imperitaves. the MAIN 3 being:

1- SELF PRESERVATION
2- PROCREATION
3- PRESERVATION OF OFFSPRING UNTIL THE OFFSPRING FROM #2 CAN ACCOMPLISH BIOLOGICAL IMPERITAVES #1 & #2 ON THEIR OWN.

Unfortunately, a perversion of the first and third imperitaves leads each of us in some way to exert ourselves as the "alpha" of any group we are in.

No one really needs the amount of oil that the US wants to obtain. We just need to be the one controlling most of it in the world market.

There is no need for anyone to KILL in the name of religion. They just need to be assured (by everyone agreeing with their religion - even if only out of fear) that their view is correct.

There are many other examples, but they are, on their basest level, the same.

It may seem simplistic, but it seems to be that the motivation for every negative action can be boiled down to a selfish act by someone or some group seeking power over another person or group.

***CLICHE ALERT***

It happens all the time on nature shows.

We just need to somehow find a common vision to live by.

The problem inherent in THAT is that we (as PEOPLE) happen to have free will, and (as ANIMALS) the ability to exert it over others.

well yes it is in mans original nature to fight over what they want but over the years we have evolved into intelligent beings were we no longer use a club we use guns and bombs, etc. but seriously this is modern times its a dog eat dog world and it will be that way for a long time, you just got to get used to it or do something about make a movement and people will follow.now i know some other people are gonna answer your question with why cant we all just get along but thats not how it is anymore and probably never will be in fact it shouldnt be for us all to get along we all have to be the exact same person there ccant be good without evil and evil without good so unless you wanna give up your rights as a unique person i wouldnt complain about the problem but merely choose a side and try to balance the problem. PS a hippie will come in here and give you a happy explanation and say love and blessings I bet!!!

I think the concensious is in- remember that we evolved from caveman-survival was key, this instinct is embedded in out DNA. And although at present this trait is not being exhibited correctly - this is also the reason that we as a civilization has lasted as long as it has. Good forbid we put ourselves in the position that we wipe ourselves out - those that are left will need that instinct to rebuild and repopulate. This may sound like science fiction but, look at what's happening in the world, we are in the middle of an all out war and we are the biggest target - with the knowledge ww've attained - and the weapons of mass destruction that we have perfected and given the plans to those people that now want us gone - what will the future bring?

Not in general, I don't believe.

I've known both peaceable people and antagonistic people.

Some folks just seem to go through life with a happy attitude, and it's not because they're any less intelligent or sane. They just prefer to keep things on the sunny side instead of constantly brooding about negative things.

Other folks are a real case study in abnormal behavior; they just seem predisposed to antagonism. There are people like that who participate in Yahoo Answers; specifically the Politics section.

They don't come here with the intention of posting any kind of thought-provoking questions or offering any useful answers. Their whole purpose seems to be to post things that insult, defame or attempt to bait others to insult them in return.

It just reeks of such adolescent behavior, and the worst part is that some of these people are adults; mothers or fathers, married people. One has to wonder what's lacking in their lives that they're so predisposed to antagonism.

I dont feel it is human nature to fight. I believe it is sort of like a really bad habit we have picked up. For example all the people in Iraq and Afghanistan-all they have ever known is killing and fighting. I would imagine that would be hard to get out of your mind. That would be a learned not inherited trait. Fighting will always occure. There will always be war. War's are not all bad. They are sad and tragic, but there are some good that can come from war. Just always remember to pray for human kind.

It's called integrity. People are willing to beat the snot out of each other because of what they believe in. SHANE has a good point with the fact that its an instinct carried over from our primitive selves.

Yes, actually, it is. If it wasn't in our nature to be violent, we wouldn't have to create laws to keep people from committing violent acts. We have a need to create those legal barriers.
