Even if I greet them with a big smile?
Seriously 9 of ten ratio.
Most of the time we are belittled by some other foreigners for our physicalities.
Should we not stick to each other then and appreciate each other's looks? come to think of it, who else will.

I apologize to eviltrol. you got me early this morning, and that wasn't the first thing I wanted to see for an early morning.
Anyway, I had a hard time deciding for the best answer. Everyone's answer is excellent.

I came upon a similar predicament from a Filipina woman before who was married to a foreign national. She said she got the dirty look from other Pinoys when they were together because they automatically stereotyped her as one of those cheap-desperate-inday-inday looking kind of girl hoping to catch a foreign husband to buy them a ticket out of hardship. It's just the sorry state of our economy and the attitude of people that makes this one sorry mess.
If this isn't your case, then good for you. And if it is, then they can all just **** off. As to why they would snub you, I guess you just ran into the nutty snobbish ones cause hell I know they all don't smile when you do and they probably think you're a weirdo. But just carry on smiling girl. It's good for you.
My successful bestfriend is married to a foreign guy and she hates mingling with the other Pinays there because they are the inday inday kind who are vicious and jealous and still gossips like there's no tomorrow (crab mentality).
As for eviltrol... your reply is nothing short of despicable.

You are correct, we should support each other but these things happen.
You are not alone kyala. I wondered why this happens and these are what I came up with:
1. You look happier than they are;
2. You dress up better than they do;
3. You have better bearing than they possess.
I gave up a long time ago to be friendly to a fellow Filipino/ Filipina (but whom I do not know) because of negative behavior. Imagine: after giving them a warm smile, they scowl back instead.
Although this frequently happened outside the Philippines, did not observe this behavior in the Philippines.
Please remain as you are. Others' opinion of you is insignificant. Please set a good example of how we, as human beings, should act. Hopefully, others will learn from it.

Wow, My wife goes through the same thing like what you are talking about.
I get the snobbish looks from black women if they see me with my pretty filipina wife.
Bottom line, I already knew what I was getting myself into before I became serious with my wife. I am well aware of narrrow minded people across the Globe.
John R,
I have a measure of wisdom, I know that you are trying to rattle my cage to have fun. I used to be a pesty teenager like you. I know your day will not be complete until you shake somebody's soda can. (smile)

I know what you mean! In LA I find that my white/Latino neighbors are waaaay more friendly towards me than our Filipina building manager (she's such a b***h). My cousin never wants to hang out with the Pinays in her school because they are snobs. Honestly I myself don't want to associate with Filipino communities who are too clannish and refuse to welcome people outside their own clique.
