Seriously... you waste so much time trying to interpret the asker's point of view based on ONE question (instead of simply ASKING him or her about it) that you work yourself up into a frenzy and end up insulting someone who holds the same point of view you do.

My guess is we tend to look for the meaning of the question in order to give an appropriate answer. Questions may be laden with hidden agendas, perceived traps, I gotcha's, and ridicule.
This is easier to determine in face to face encounters and not as easily performed in this medium. One cannot see the others facial expressions, gestures, posture, nor can they listen to tone of voice.
I have often asked the questioner about the intent of the question and seldom do I get a response. It is extremely difficult to ask clarifying questions via a Q&A site. Thus, we are often reduced to often intensifying the conflict (different wants and needs) rather than managing them in a win-win manner.

True, but think how much less entertaining these Boards would be if we didn't have all of these people asking and answering questions, all based on misinformed opinions and non-factual information.
