Well I also have had high blood pressure the last 4 times i went and he was a lil worried last time. I recieved steroid shots to develop my son early because they didnt think I'd make it to 35 weeks. I'm swollen like a fat hog and I'm so afraid that since he's been developed and I have until april 3rd to go he's gonna be huge. And I weighed 97lbs when this started and this is just horrible. I'll be 20 in 13 days and I just dont think I can take it anymore thats why im asking. I've tried everything from walking, castrol oil, nipple stimulation, and at 30 weeks i was told by my dr not to have sex. so I cant try that. I just dont know what to do. HELP

Simply sit down with your doctor and tell him/her. As long as it will not adversely affect the health of your baby and its development is normal, there should be no problem.

Boy do I feel for you! I have been in that situation two times- both of my children were two weeks past the due date- and my doctor would not induce. I was sent to have a stress test done to ensure the baby was okay. And, We waited. I was so distraught I didn't even want to talk to anyone! You can simply ask your Dr. About the possibility of being induced- however- most do not entertain it anymore. I have heard from others - that they do not to cut liability risks?? I'm not sure if that is true or not. Good luck, and try to relax- enjoy these last few days before the baby arrives.

Your 37 weeks and very ready to have this baby. Alot of moms just can't stand the last few weeks. They really wish their baby was here.
Since I have had four kids I totally understand how frustrating it is to STILL be pregnant.
Having said that I would now like to share with you why you might not want to be induced.
First- It hurts worse. Artifically induced contractions are crazy. There is no slow build up of a contraction. It is just there BAM!!! Instead of nice gentle waves of contractions building up you have tsunami contractions! LOL
Second- These much harder than normal contractions are stressful on your baby. hyperstimulation can deprive the baby from the necessary supplies of blood and oxygen, and so produce abnormal FHR (fetal heart rate) patterns, fetal distress (leading to cesarean section).
Induction may be a good tool if medically necessary but it is not something to be taken lightly.
Check out mothering.com for some birth stories to pass time.

I would just ask. I was induced with both of my kids. I also had 9 pound babies! Just keep telling yourself being uncomfortable for awhile (even though it seems like FOREVER) is worth a healthy baby. Everyday the baby is growing and developing inside you. A few more weeks is nothing compared to a lifetime of health problems due to baby coming too soon! Congrats to you! Once you hold that baby it will all be worth it! Baby will come when it is ready!

Being 37 weeks and dialated isn't uncommon. A doctor dosen't like to induce if not necessary. A baby born at 37 wks would be considered a preemie regardless of it's weight. Hang in there it will all be over before you know it. Good luck.

Just ask outright. Most doctors will not induce until after your due date though.
I was 3cm and 75% effaced for WEEKS. I was not induced until after I hit 40 weeks because doctors want to be sure you are favorable for an induction and would rather you go naturally anyhow. They want to be really sure that the baby is ready as well.
I know it's uncomfortable but it really is best for the baby to wait. i was induced 2 days after my due date.

I know how you feel. I was 3 cm dilated and just as miserable as you. I could barely walk. I tried getting induced but my doctors wouldn't allow it until after I was 41 1/2 weeks. Unless it's a high risk pregnancy, I doubt that they will allow it.

want i ought to tell you that there is a magic answer accessible yet there is no longer. At 39 weeks i replaced into 3cm's, at forty weeks i replaced into 4cm's by the time I went in for my clinical induction i replaced into 5cm's with a bulging bag, she broke my water, I had directly extreme contractions, no Pitocin replaced into needed and that i further 2.5hrs after she broke my water! i attempted each and every thing I seen "risk-free" (Castor Oil isn't risk-free) and nevertheless went 10 days late.

You can ask, but they don't usually induce unless you or the baby are in danger at this week.
2 weeks after your due date is typical.
Good Luck & Congrats!
