like to spend a fair bit of time watching tv, so the amount of time wasted watching mindless shite has increased dramatically in the month..
I do, however, have some more shameful tv-watching practices, the main case being Neighbours. For the couple of people out there who may not know, Neighbours is a soapie set in the Melbourne town of Erinsborough, and is completely ****. I can’t help watching this show, even though I realise that it is a complete waste of time, film and money. Although I write it off, I must say that I love the show, and when it gets taken off the air (for the summer, which I'm suffering through at the moment) I’m hanging out for the show to start back up again.

It is not a waste if you take full advantage of what it has to offer. There is a lot of good fiction, like the classics on APT. Watch the History and Discovery Channels. Let your history book come alive and get a better understanding of it. There is so much one doesn't know and can learn on all subjects. There is also quality entertainment on TV. You can partake of the arts also. TV has a bad reputation becausesome people wastetheir time watching idiotic stuff.. Some older people say their parents used to scold them for "keeping their noses in books." TV is just one of the media of the day. However, mix it up. Get away from TV sometimes and live your life.

I don't rewatch re-runs of Bergerac.
I would say it might be a waste of someone's life if that is all they did for 18 hours a day / night.
It could be very informative if one were selective on the tv programmes one watched and one only spent a few hours a week watching. Of course it is entirely up to the individual how they spend the rest of their time.
Is doing Yahoo Questions and Answers any better.
Always the opposite side to the coin.

I dont watched TV very often but its not a complete waste of your life, there are times that it might be the best thing to do, if it can relax you and relieve your stress, then watch it. Some people get lots of ideas from TV. Nothing I believe is a complete waste of time, it depend on situations, there are times when the most productive thing to do at the moment is to just sit and do nothing and think nothing.

I don't really believe anything that you can take things from is a complete waste of life.
I think some of the most inspirational things I have seen have come from what could be considered something that is really for dumbing down, (TV)
Some advertisiments (from England) and the very rare programme.
Don't forget TV could really be seen as a thing which has to pander to the average taste and intelligence which could be seen as rather sad.
It would be nice to think that people had the stuff to be able to take the best out of something and build it into something new or just be inspired from it.
It would be nice to think that.

Not necessarily. I'm keen to spend all day Saturday in the pub watching Six Nations rugby on a big screen. It's the closing matches of the tournament ye ken. I'll be sure to socialise whilst watching, and by the time England suffer embarassment at the hands of the Welsh (they play last) I'll be sure to be very very drunk as well. And boisterous of course. Shouting at the telly is fun.

Judging by the sheer amount of meaningless, brainless tripe thats "beamed" to our TV's every day, I would say the answer is a resounding YES! It's weird, I've actually gotten to the point that, when I am watching tv, I have to have a puzzle or book or something else to do, because I get sooooooo bored by the same old crap. Do we really need to see any more so-called "celebrities" making fools of themselves on TV? Can't we send them all back to work in Tesco's?

Good Day Mate!
Well as For me, Watching Television is never a COMPLETE waste of your life, unless if you are a couch potato and you try to spend the whole entire day watching your favorite show that you almost forget; you have to work...
On the other hand, if you watch tv for a relaxation and entertainment well go on it nice to have a break after a long tiring day...
Hope my Answer will help you...
Adios..... ;)

Depends really. Normally it isn't a waste of time especially if you're watching the news or using the tv as a stress reliever by watching comedy programs. It can be a waste of time however, if you overdo watching it.

Hi
Yes absolutely, we would rather be someone we love etc. But when it comes to bored we decide to watch tv, as a way of passing time etc, now i think the internet is better than tv, youcan learn stuff on here as well: www.wikepedia.com,www.youtube.com and www.google.com. as well a other websites etc.
Keeps the brain ticking, and helps us solve problems in our daily lives.
Good luck
