burp cloths, diapers(different sizes), wipes, onsies(different sizes), bottles, formula(if mother doesn't plan to breastfeed), clothes different sizes, picture frames, blankets, towels, wash cloths, hair brush, baby wash, lotion(eucerin unscented), bottle steralizer, bottle brush, play mat, carseat, stroller, toys, stuffed animals, changing table, crib, playpen, swing, bassinet, pacifier, diaper bag, mylicon drops, motrin, tylenol, bathtub.
Newborns aren't too picky.

changing table (some dressers double as this)
Swing (it's been a life saver)
Stroller
Carseat
blankets, burp clothes
Clothes up to 6 months at least, they grow fast
4 packs or so of newborn diapers
10 packs or so of size one diapers Then see where the baby is at
lots of wipes, diaper cream, baby wash, lotion
Diaper bag
Bottles, nipples, bottle brush
Some people want a sterilizer but it's not a necessity.
formula if you're using it
first aide kit for babies with tylenol, bandaides etc
