Why did she get anything? She only sung a song and that is it. She is far from famous. Am I thhe only person that feels this way?

I think she deserved it, if for no other reason than to stick it to Beyonce.
Seriously though, Jennifer Hudson played the heck out of that role and sang her buns off...
As far as her being famous...you don't really have to be THAT well known to win an award and there's been tons of actors and actresses that won an Oscar and then went on to do absolutely nothing. I don't think that will happen to her though...at least I hope not.

I feel she deserves it as much as anyone else that gets an award. She was also hyped in the media because of getting voted off Idol. The girl does have a set of pipes and being a newcomer to the industry she deserved every bit of it. How many black actresses get an award for their first movie. I'm happy for her.
