i have an xp but theres a game called redneck rampage which is only compatable with 98, 95, me and dos. will it work on an advancedmachine or not? ive heard it wont?

No, games such as RNR (awesome), Duke Nukem (also awesome) and Shadow Warrior (incredibly awesome) will require porting to work correctly. One developer JonoF has done them for Duke and Shadow Warrior, I've not tried to find one for RNR, but he may know of one.

It is 100% compatible because xp has a built in old OS emulator which simulates the older OS's to yes it will work

it should.

if it doesnt, you can right click on it and select properties. one of the properties allows you to set it to run as an older type of windows for that program. so xp pretends to be 95 or 98. support is patchy though.

for dos games, download dosbox from (i belive) dosbox.com, or run a search for dos box.

it makes windows pretend to be dos, basically

sometimes it will and somtimes it won't, what you could do if you have a few of these games is, partition your hard drive and install windows 98 into one of them here are some instructions on how to.
