is it me or does the UK government think making people pay more solves global warming?

like that car travel tax they wanted you (one if your posh) to pay for every where you go. they don't think of any ideas that wouldn't make the tax payer pay more

It's not you ..... It is a way to make certain people rich (IE Gore's pollution credit company) and for Government to raise taxes. I pray to God people in the U.S. wake up!

The car travel tax would discourage short journeys and hopefully encourage the use of public transport or even walking around. If people would actually use public transport, walk, cycle, etc wouldn't this reduce greenhouse gas production?

But penalising the use of a car isn't the best way to go about it. If the government were prepared to support and re-integrate the public transport network to the extent that you could make a journey cheaper and easier by public transport wouldn't that be better?

There is supposidly a big scandel that the figures for global warming arnt as bad as the government have made out. I doubt they think that our money will solve it, they are just greedy.

Ask to be shown where your money is being spent as it could rerouted to a area where it is not being used for the countrys welfare.

They will use any excuse to raise taxes - that's all it comes down to : tax and spend.

it will solve their budget deficit problem that's for sure and give them something extra to bribe the voters with at the next election

It's a way to encourage car pooling, bikes, and walking. I personally think it should be world wide, and much higher
