I am interested in the State tax system in Tennessee

There is no state tax. We do have an outrageously high sales tax, however. 9%

When I lived in Knoxville to attend college in the 90's there was no state income tax.

There is no state income tax in Tn. YET..., the spenders in Nashville are plotting even now to rectify that missed opportunity to reach into my pocket ind spend the money I work hard to earn.

There wasn't when I lived there. However, the sales tax is high.

I lived in Clarksville and would do most of my shopping in Hopkinsville, KY.

Not currently, but it isnt because lawmakers arent trying.
