Yeah I woke up to a burn hole caused by a cigarette yesterday. I have to patch it but I don't have a sample of the carpet. I rent so I can't just cut another piece from another area. Where could I look to find this type of carpet. I've tried stores all around where I live and I can't find crap. Please help me.

Im assuming this is a small round burned spot not a alrge area. What worked for me.......use needlenose pliers to pull out the individual burned fibers..............then using pliers pull individual fibers from different places, corners of the room , closet, along the sides are least noticable. buy a small tube of clear silicone caulk and put a dab on the backing where you plucked out the burned ones, use the needlenose pliers to push the new fibers thru the backing.

If the burn is small.....and you're not able to cut a patch from another area.....................you could scrape away burned fibers down to the backing of the carpet.......scrape away as much of the discoloration on the backing as possible.....try and match the carpet color with a model paint from a hobby store....use the paint to color the carpet backing you have just scraped clean.......now.... can you harvest DONOR fibers from inconspicuous areas of the carpet?.... perhaps out of corners?.....you now could glue the individual fibers to the painted backing with gel super glue. Could be a tedious job, but if a real patch , or matching the carpet from a store is a problem.......there aren't to many solutions to this problem
good luck

Cut out the damaged area, keeping the cut as small as possible. Then cut the same size plug from a hidden area - closet, corner, etc. Or cut tiny pieces from various areas. Then glue the plugs into the damaged area. Not sure what glue. Maybe Elmers. You don't want the glue to harden into a "pebble". Let it dry well, then work it gently with a brush so it blends in.

carpet has a grain, if you cut a patch rotate it & re install it it will stad out forever, hot glue tap should be used ( carpet installer ), cut out a closet & tile it back!
you're going to spend several hundred to do this right, & repair your neglegence!

You've gotten two great answers so quit complaining. If you don't want help then don't ask for it. If you can't find the carpet anywhere else then you're out of luck.
