1000 years ago, there was hardly a Europe to conquer. The Ottoman Empire frequently tried to attack as far as Venice as they had most of the Balkans. What would the world be like? I suppose much as it is today, if not better integrated. We wouldn't have art with people on it, just ceramics and gorgeous patterns.
Actually, Attila the Hun and Genghis Khan had more chance of "taking over" Europe, though they wouldn't have been able to keep it :P
Those of you saying we'd be back in the Middle Ages are so ridiculously inaccurate it makes me want to cry for how stupid and racist you people are.

Oh, I think a lot of things would've been different. First of all, the Muslim world would probably have been in a position to better defend themselves against western interference. That means that the Muslim world would have been allowed to explore democratic means at their own pace, without having us in the western world instating tyrants upon them, arming militias and spread hatred between the different groups. This is the western way, you see, "divide and conquer".
That is one possibility. Another one is that it would've just turned into one more "evil empire". If so, that wouldn't have been so different from today, except that the tables would have been turned.
The western man likes to ***** about Muslims and their lack of this and that, while at the same time it is the western man that support these dictators in the Arab world who are responsible for the things that the western man likes to blame on the population living there. And people say you shouldn't judge Americans because of the actions of their leaders, even though they're supposed to be living in a republic. Just look it up. We in the western world support their dictators, and we oppose and destroy their democratically elected regimes.
This is the racist western double standard that has to end ASAP if what people want is peace.

They did so about 1000 years ago. The crusaders took back part of it.

Nothing would have changed. They will still be fighting with each other just like today Sunnies against Shias or Ahmediyas etc. etc.

god forbid if that happened... the world would most likley be under "sha rear law" i dont know what its called exactly..but we would have a major conflict on our hands
