This morning, I posed this question: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Avg1t2a4A2glvZpPylY4xoHsy6IX?qid=20070315041015AAqkyvZ

My purpose in posting this was to find out whether people thought that Khalid Yadda Yadda was telling the truth that he was responsible for 9/11 "from A to Z" as he said, or whether people believe that a terrorist might lie and there might be others involved.

As you see, I was called a jihadist, I was insulted, I was berated... all for refusing to take a terrorist's word for it that he was the one responsible for the whole thing.

So now refusing to take a terrorist's words to be absolutely true makes me unAmerican? Who the hell does this country belong to? Them???

Idiot: I think I'm allowed to phrase my questions however I want. I just find it curious that conservatives got so defensive on behalf of a terrorist, that's all. "Of course he's telling the truth! Khalid wouldn't lie!"

Andrew: Whoa. Chill out. No one said anything about the government doing it. Calm down. Jeez.

Real Estate: I never once said that you don't have the right to say whatever you want; that is what you chose to infer from my response to what they said. My question remains, why resort to calling someone unAmerican simply because they refuse to accept the word of a known terrorist? Since when do we believe anything these monsters say? Or would you prefer I go and thank him for his honesty and integrity? I'm sure the 3,000 Americans who lost their lives because of him and his friends that we don't have in custody would be so happy that you feel that way.

Jacob: No apology is necessary, so no apology is offered.

Eric K: You still didn't answer the question, you posted the guy's resume. I didn't ask what he did. I asked why we believe him when he says he's the only planner.

I'm a conservative. I don't think you're un-American, and I don't know if Khilid Yadda Yadda was telling the truth or not. It will be interesting to see the redacted portion of the report that was released. I guess it's possible that he headed it up.

According to what I've been reading, there is a lot of CIA operative behind this admission, i.e., things that the average person like you and I don't know about. With that being said, I don't think the story would have broken if there weren't some careful investigating behind it. The CIA has been onto this guy for 3 years and he has a long list of wrongdoings. This is not some terrorist that popped up out of the blue and said, "Yeah, I did it!" Still, I approach this story with caution. More details may arise later.

You originally asked if "conservatives" are going to believe a terrorist, which leads people to believe you are baiting them with your question. So don't be surprised when you get these kinds of responses. Then you try and back-off by asking why people can't just answer your questions. You are playing devil's advocate.

I answered your question, but apparently you were not paying attention. Let me try again, I will will try to make it simple:

1. Khalid Shaek Mohammed planned the original WTC bombing that happened during the first 4 years of the Clinton Administration.

2. Mohammed's own Nephew, Ramsey Yusef, was part of that bombing plot, and was caught and convicted. This lead back to Mohammed.

3. Despite the fact that the Clinton Admin had this data, they never acted to hunt down Mohammed at the time, or go after Osama Bin Ladin, although they had more than one occasion to kill or capture him.

4. President Bush was elected, and within a very short time, 9/11 occurred. The Bush admin, pressing the Pakistani govt for help, was able to catch Mohammed, who was transferred to Gitmo as an "enemy combatent".

5. Using some of the interrogation techniques available to them, supposedly "water boarding" where a person feels like they are drowning (they are never in danger to do so) Mohammed broke and spilled the beans with very clear data that could not be concocted, leading to the capture or killing of others in his network.

6. Besides the data from the interrogation, a laptop was captured when Mohammed was caught. This laptop contained mucho data which made his role clear as mastermind of the 9/11 terror bombing.

7. Now he has admitted these things publicly, and the Left is engraged because it does not show that America plotted to attack itself, and boy that makes conspiracy theorists mad. Why not ask them for their facts? You won't find much.

Okay, there is your answer AGAIN. If you still don't understand, simply fall back on this statement, which you can get from any one of your clueless nitwit friends, "BUSH LIED PEOPLE DIED" Is that what you wanted to hear?

LOL, yep, you certainly may ask a question anyway you want. But, allow me to ask you to look at your initial question above.

Do you not see anything wrong/in error/misleading about it?

I will give you a clue. Check out the word "NEVER".

I answered your original question without insulting you. I did not berate you. I did not call you any names. Based on this, you can see that "NEVER" is wrong and very misleading for the rest of the world to read.

I hope the remainder of the day goes better for you.

I answered you there and I will answer you here. This terrorist's answers are checked against other sources of intelligence. His facts are checked and re-checked. There are details only actors would know etc. Be live me, the people interrogating him know that he is trying to lie. They know how to break a man to get to the truth. They know how to check what he tells them.

I am a conservative and I ALWAYS answer questions.

You may now apologize now for mis-representing conservatives. I am magnanimous. I will readily accept your apology.

I seem to agree with those that say this country is going the wrong way... we're allowing politicians to trash our Constitution... they claim to want democracy while limiting OUR democracy... sound oxymoronic, really.

Insofar as believing a person who was tortured... really, is he REALLY being truthful or is he agreeing to whatever his torturer wants him to admit? This has nothing to do with patriotism but with common sense, decency and humanity.

I cannot understand how one chimp has destroyed many hard fought decades of negotiations and set us back about a century in humane treatment of prisoners around the world... and we wonder why our captured fellow Americans are tortured and murdered by our enemies? HOW can we claim to be the good guys when we're acting in the same manner as our enemies? Does that somehow make us better?

Is that prisoner telling the truth or is agreeing to what his torturer wants him to admit to or is he willingly making a martyr of himself? HOW do we know the difference?

EDITED: And records clearly show that Clinton's staff TRIED to inform Bush and his administration of what they had discovered in covert operations and the existing dangers of attack by terrorists and they ignored all Intelligence efforts to advise them out of pure ignorance and arrogance!

Here....

Let me answer that, again, since you obviously missed it the first time...

I don't think he said that he was "solely responsible" for the 9/11 attacks. He was the planner for the attacks. Not just on 9/11, either. He did more than that.

Ask a slanted question, get a slanted answer. I am conservative and my answer to your first question would be:
Yes we will eat it up like ice cream but we will also know that more people than just him are involved. My answer to your second question (the one posted here) Is that we can. Do not blame the entire party for a few people that want to cause a stir.

republicans and conservatives are 2 different things. Why are you directing this question towards conservatives when the first one was directed towards republicans?
