oh huni, I can sympathise completely with you. I had started to wonder why all the Q's about it. All I can suggest is being honest and saying that you were young and niave at the time and that neither of you were prepared or ready for marraige. Explain how you tried to make it work, but it wasnt possible. He may sympathise with you and above all respect your honesty.
I am divorced, now engaged to a lovely man. We wish to marry one day, hopefully in a church. My divorce was done on unreasonable behaviuor (he's unreasonable behaviour.) But I sympathise, cause youve moved on and want to start a new life, just like me.

Find another Vicar! I remarried in church the Vicar knew we were both divorced but he never asked why or who was to blame. Maybe it is a personal thing he has about marrying a divorced person who was to blame. Good Luck.

There is no personal info on the absolute document.
You do not have to worry who was the unreasonable one.
Hopefully you have learned through your mistakes and will not do this again.
I find it funny that you know it is you and yet you are deceiving the vicar????
You are not being truthful with a religious person???
Perhaps a civil marriage might be the proper thing to do here.
That way you are starting your marriage fresh without having lies marr it before it happens.

Perhaps if you try a different church or faith, the minister there will be willing to marry you. Sometimes it is a minister or vicar's policy and sometimes it is church policy. It varies between denominations.

Where do you live? That is important as different places have different laws. In Scotland for instance you can marry in a church. You can marry in a registry office anywhere and have the marriage blessed in church afterwards.

Tell your vicar...This is 2007...and to update his thoughts about religion..........If Prince Charles can get remarried...church or not...then why shouldn't you......If they can bend the rules for him....why cant they for you.????
If he doesn't agree....go to another church who will....

Ultimately it's down to the disecretion of the vicar.
Some will and some won't. If he's a bit hard line then I would suggest you try somewhere else.
