The sun is just coincidence. If the house is facing the sun, the door is facing the sun. But the mirror should be facing the door to reflect "chi". That represents a type of energy that tries to flow through the door and on through the house and out the windows or out the back door. If chi flows too quickly, it is bad feeling for the house so the mirror will slow the flow and keep chi in balance. It is the same chi that is at work in our bodies to keep energy in balance. The activity of Tai Ji (mistakenly called Tai Chi) uses movements to keep chi in balance.
