There is no average weight for a newborn. A full term baby can weigh anywhere between approx. 6 lbs. to a whopping 12 lbs(although that's pretty heavy). All the babys born to our immediate family were under 7.5 lb. Newest member (born to my niece last week) was 6.1 lb. which is small but not unusual. Both my kids were under 7 lb.
Eat healthy, don't smoke, don't drink alcohol and get plenty of exercise. Keeping you healthy keeps the baby healthy & that's all that matters.

The average female weighs 7lb, male 7 1/2 lb. But healthy babies can be born much smaller or larger. It's not always necessarily how big he/she is at birth, but that he's growing and all tests are normal. What is more important is the gestational age at birth.
Don't hesitate to ask your Dr, nurse or pharmacist questions, and if you truly feel something is wrong after that, then just seek a second opinion.

Like 5 or 6 pounds at the least for being normal and like 11 or 12 at the most. usually newborns are 6-9 pounds.

They could be wrong, me and my twin were small babies and we turned out healthy and fine. Babies just grow at different rates.
I think 6lbs and above is the healthy range.
