i would say introduce it at 6 weeks. just don't count on her taking the bottle from u, she can smell your milk. u may have to give her to someone else to feed the bottle.
babies are more complicated than animals. u don't have to keep her on your hip 24/7 as someone suggested.
i wouldn't want to take my newborn to the store either. it would be a great time for her to bond with daddy. babies need mommy and daddy. the majority of people here seem to forget that.

Wait until breastfeeding is well established, about 6 weeks depending on how well things are going. Also depends on why you want to introduce. If you are just wanting to let someone help with the baby then once a day at first will do. if you are returning to work, i would suggest a good pump and ROUTINE!!

At about the 4 week mark most babies have established good breast feeding habits and you can begin pumping and trying a bottle.
To increase your supply pump right after your baby has fed, even though you might only get an ounce your body will start to think it needs to make more.
If your baby does not like taking the bottle from you try giving it to someone else while you go in another room or outside. Some babies will not drink from the bottle because they can actually smell mom.
Don't let people make you feel bad for wanting time to yourself. I went to Walmart 4 days after my son was born just to be alone for an hour. It doesn't make you a bad mother.

You really don't have to use a bottle at all. Even a newborn can be taught to drink out of a small cup. You can also give them milk with a syringe or medicine feeder. If you do try a bottle, I would wait until at least 4 and 6 weeks.

i think of at 5 weeks previous my son became into taking 3 or 4oz. he will in all probability drink greater from a bottle than you will assume, yet be careful to seek for indicators that he's slowing down so he would not recover from finished. I purely used the Medela bottles that got here with my breast pump and he appeared to do nicely with them. I additionally had some sootie bottles, yet they're rather extensive and that i did not like that. additionally, be arranged for the toddler to probably not choose to take the bottle from you. he would be waiting to sniff your milk and would not choose to take it from a bottle. you will not additionally be waiting to be interior the comparable room with him together as he's ingesting from a bottle or he will nevertheless refuse it.

I would say 6 weeks to stop her from getting confused and rejecting the breast, i tried my 3rd before he was 6 weeks and he was having none of it but he is now 14 weeks and he will take one, there is no harm in wanting some freedom especially when you are planning on giving her breastmilk from the bottle so don't listen to anyone who tells you otherwise, youre entitled to a little freedom.

I would wait until 4 weeks. If its not a dire emergency, 4 weeks is typically when you can say breastfeeding is well - 'established'

You have done so well to commence breastfeeding AND stay with it through the most difficult time. Now is the time to enjoy it. This precious time with your baby will never ever be repeated. Stay with the breast feeding as long as possible, preferably at least a year. God created our milk as a perfect formula for OUR babies. If you really can't cope whilst at the store how about getting someone to go with you? Best wishes.

About 4 weeks old, that way she is set with you. This was advice that my sister's lactation consultant gave her. Just make sure someone else introduces the bottle to her. Good luck! :)

it is ideal to breastfeed for 6-12 months. it creates a greater bond between mother and child and encourages ample growth in the child. ignore the sooner the better comment.
