What Would You Most Like To Be Doing Right Now? And Where?

Question

I'm somewhere in western Washington state, in a cottage tucked away in the woods. A pond is nearby. It's forty chilly degrees outside, and the rain falls. Night has come. The crackling of the fireplace and the pattering of the raindrops are my lone companions.

I'm perched in my old chair and hunched over my laptop, in pajamas and socks. I'm a freelance writer, you see, so I'm working. But what better place to work ... in a cabin, in the woods, in Washington state?

If you could be doing anything at this moment, what would it be? And where?

the sun is just barely peeking over the hills that surround the pasture. the grass is a mellow green, and then sky is a pale blue, with hints of lavander. there are a few clouds. big, cottony clouds, and they make up the difference, of only being a few. there are no leaves on the trees yet, so the bare branches stand out, almost black. a few small flowers are blooming, adding splashes of color to the acres of land.

i am sitting on the ground. it is 50 degress outside. i am in a tee shirt and jeans, and fuzzy slippers. my dog is walking around behind me, sniffing at something.

there are dozens of birds, holding their usual morning conversation. cardinals and phebies stand out in the chatter.

there is an old barn, the wood had greyed, and the roof is slopped at such an angle, that you know by looking, it was mother nature and father time that have modled this barn. the gate is slightly rusted, and the horses look as content as ever, munching a morning snack.



sounds pretty good eh? it is exactly what you can see from my back patio. i live on a 28 acre farm, and every morning, i just go out, and sit, usually on the steps, and just look at all of the beauty. i could sit there for hours

That sounds nice, I like the fire and the independence of it. Also that crisp clean air and being productive in an agreeable way.

Mine would be on a warm island somewhere. Very private. Ok its fantasy so its my island, maybe 30 acres. It has many interesting buildings there, I build some of them myself. I spend 2 hours a day building for exercise there. For a few months of every year its a sort of spa for rick folks, friends and a few people who just deserve it (there on scholarship, rewarded as a prize for good deeds). Many of the massage therapists are my girlfriends. All cuties and very talented. And they really like me. I have lost 30 pounds and am happy and rich there. Sometimes I write or invent or play in my lab or workshop. I make metal parts in my machine shop, specialized one of a kind things. I don't need the money but I enjoy that work. Also there is a blacksmith shop. Everybody who works there is friendly and relaxed, raises are based on those things. The workers all own stock in the business. 9 months of the year is vacation time.

i am in the middle east and its snowing right now and there is no work because of the snow, everyone at home or playing with the few snow we have, and listening to the radio because the tvs channels is not working. so thank God for the internet connections.

i love to watch the snow from the window, watching the kids playing.............

I would be at the Bahamas ....... snokeling and loving every minute of sand between my toes and the sun upon my skin. The sweet smell of the ocean tickling my nose.
