No not always. I was having Braxton Hicks contractions about a week ago that were every ten minutes. I drank water and layed down and they still kept going, but after an hour an a half, they just stopped. Its a week later and still nothing.

Braxton hicks don't always mean you are going into labour. I had them at 30 weeks and didn't go until 10 days after my date so don't get your hopes up.
They are your body's way of preparing for labour and many people expericance them on and off throughout their pregnancy.

I had braxton hicks from about 20 weeks they're uncomfortable and irritating but not labour, when you go into labour you'll know.
