I'm pretty good when I have work, but when I don't, my lifestyle quickly becomes, well, slobbish. Getting up late, staying up late, planning to do things and never getting round to them....

Is there a way to combat this?

A_Kansan, it depends what you mean by success. I've been self employed for five years, I'd call that pretty fuçking successful.

Sounds to me like you lack discipline.

If you are self employed and don't have immediate work, you need to be searching for your next job.

It is like planting a crop on a rotating basis. Some is just planted, another row is growing, another maturing, while still another is ready for harvest.

If you do not have the self discipline and get-up-and-go to keep busy, it does not bode well for success as a self employed person.

Good Luck
