Well, the surging hormones can sure affect your moods. I think of puberty as being kidnapped, blindfolded, and dumped on a roller coaster, sitting backwards. In time, things level out.

That said, there might be more to this if it's gone on for more than a few days. When you feel like crying, jot down what time, where, what's going on at the time, and if you can figure it out, what you're sad about. See if a pattern emerges. Possibilities:

Stress. Stress causes real, physical changes in the body.

Lack of sleep. Same thing. Did you know driving tired can be as dangerous as driving drunk? Not getting enough sleep prevents your body from healing, slows mental and physical functions, makes everything seem harder.

Diet. How's your nutrition most days? Too much junk food, etc. is hard on the body. So is skipping meals.

Other. There could be other things going on in your life, things you feel you've gotten used to, but your body is saying "no, this isn't working for me."

See if you can find a pattern. If it's stress, or seems to be hormonal, you might want to go over it with your doctor, who can recommend ways to deal with stress (like talking to a counselor, practicing meditation). If you're doing too much, find something to quit so you can get some down time and rest. If it's nutrition, then it's time to cut back on the junk and trade the chips for an apple.

Everybody goes through periods where they're "blue." They don't last forever, but sometimes you do need to take steps to feel better. If you can find the pattern (and if you try for a week or so and there doesn't seem to be one, then it's off to the doctor for a checkup so he or she can identify what's going on), then you can find a solution.
