What type of budget are you on? Can you afford a good, convenient hotel or do you need something cheaper that you can still get to the game? Hard to know what to recommend without knowing what is most important to you (location or price).

One place that is pretty good for both that comes to mind is the Holiday Inn on Beacon St in Brookline. http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/hi/1/en/hotel/BKLMA?&

It's either a moderate walk to Fenway (probably a lil over a mile), or very easy to just jump on the T--the Beacon Street Green Line, which runs directly in front of it. The location is great since you would be near Fenway plus very close to Coolidge Corner which is a great little area with lots of stores and restaurants. And as Boston Hotels go, it's by far one of the more reasonable. Plus the Hotel is ok too.

You can stay at any hotel in the Copley, Kenmore/Fenway, or Downtown areas. There is the Hotel Commonweath on Commonwealth Ave, which is right around the corner from Fenway park. You could walk there. It is also a stones throw away from Copley and Downtown where there are all sorts of other things to do as well.

It all depends on how much you are looking to spend. Boston isn't very big so there is a bus or train pretty much near everything. The Kenmore train station is under construction, but I believe there are buses that take you down the way into Copley and Downtown Crossing. If it's nice out, you can walk everywhere and save a few bucks.

Really depends on your budget. The Hotel Commonwealth was renovated pretty recently and is a short walk from Fenway. It's right in Kenmore Square. The Kenmore subway stop on the Green Line is under construction, like someone said, but it's still operational. It looks pretty ugly at the moment with the construction but it's not closed so you can use it. (I live on the green line and go through Kenmore frequently). Hotels near Copley are all ok too, although expensive. The "chain" business hotels like the Marriott and Sheraton are geared towards business travellers - they're pretty nice and comfortable, but don't have a lot of character at all and are pretty expensive so only worth staying at if you're on an expense account. But the Lenox Hotel, and Fairmount Copley Hotel, are nice hotels more geared towards tourist travel, so if you're going to spend a lot of money I'd go with one of those. If you're looking for just a place to sleep that's less pricey, then I'd recommend the Holiday Inn on Beacon St. in Brookline, as someone else recommended. It's clean enough and nice, not as fancy but it's in a good location right on the green line. There's also a Courtyard Marriott in Brookline, right near Coolidge Corner (I'm not sure if it's actually on Beacon St. or half a block off Beacon St. but it's very close to the green line). Also there's a Howard Johnson motel on Boylston St. a block or two from Fenway - even less fancy and cheaper but also clean enough and fine if you're just looking for a place to sleep.

There are a fair amount of hotels in Kenmore Square, just 3 blocks to the ball club. I looked these up and can remember that the "Hotel Commonwealth" was very clean and had everything you'd want (4 1/2 Stars). On the map it's right there and you'd walk three blocks up Brookline Ave. The public transit is right there and it'll take 1/2 an hour to the train and about an hour to get to the airport, I think.

The Colonnade Hotel
120 Huntington Avenue
Boston, MA 02116

Right near Copley Square, a very nice pool on the roof with a bar and the sights are very good. The Green T line is right next to the hotel so you walk maybe 5 feet to get to the door of the T.

There are 3 hotels in Kenmore Square just 100 yards from Fenway Park's entrance and another one on Boylston Street
just a little further in the opposite direction.

I would recommend trying the Holiday Inn Brookline, or the Terrace Motel, both of which aer along the C line on the green line and easy to get to Fenway.

Millenium Bostonian is located right in Quincy Market...sunday mornings you can open your window, step out onto the ledge sip your coffee and watch the shoppers buy fresh produce from the open air grocers below... its also close to the "t" and provides you the convenience of partying and eating in the fanueil hall area without the need of a cab...
