I had a small backyard get together for friends this past weekend. This included grilled food, beer, and even some stuff for the kids to do. A little later in the afternoon, the kids had gone inside to play video games, leaving the adults outside. We’d all had a few beers and started messing around with the bubble wand that the kids had been playing with. For those of you who don’t know, a bubble wand is a toy for making large soap bubbles in the air.

Anyways, I don’t recall how it came to this, but a buddy of mine held the bubble wand, while I pulled down my pants and farted into it. This actually produced a decent sized bubble, to the amusement of all who were in the backyard. The bubble, caught by a gentle spring breeze, sailed over the fence and into my neighbor’s yard. It then floated by my neighbor, who popped it, then turned a visible shade of green, nearly retching.

After he recovered, he started calling us every name in the book.

He even threatened to sue us over our actions. We laughed it off at the time, but now I’m wondering if he actually could attempt to sue over something so silly. If he did, how likely is it that he’d win?

hehe....well...I don't think he can sue over the bubble thingy. Lawyer would have a good laugh for this. Your neighbor seems like don't have a sense of humor but an old Grouch.

But this wouldn't hurt to do this: you can do some apology for your neighbor and just leave it to that. That way you and your neighbor won't fight over little things don't matter especially the Bubble Fart. lol
I wish I could of seen that....*giggle*

BTW...don't expose yourself anymore...he can call cops on ya..lol

One thing is for certain anybody can sue anybody for anything. But the chances of them winning for something like that is about as slim as winning the Lotto.. contrary to popular belief you are allowed to be fully nude in a fenced in backyard as well. You dropping your pants and him seeing it without a fenced in yard to semi block the view may cause a small fine for indescent exposure at the most. Do not apologize to the neighbor, its proof of guilt in a court of law.
Good Luck..

Don't think he can sue you. If he saw you drop your pants he could have called the law and got you for indecent exposure. Nothing against the law about a "fart balloon" that I know of..

I would pay money to see this complaint typed out. A genuine gas bubble. Must be potent dude.

He can sue (as can anyone for anything) but it would be dismissed as frivolous, and also for failure to state a claim for which relief can be granted.

What I really want to know is why you didn't have your camcorder out filming this incident. Can you imagine this on America's funniest home videos?

This is just funny as hell. Wish I had been there!

You can sue over anything, but I would recommend that you countersue, for destruction of property (the gaseous bubble) and for damaging your tender ears with profanities that you (O pure one) had to explain to your children.

Sure he can sue you for any act that is improper.or any grievances. But the decision is that of the judge. Should he win, its a minor offense so your going to pay damage but no imprisonment because there's no such crime in penal code yet.

It did not cause any physical harm or monetary suffering. He does not have a case.

However, if he did see your nude booty, he could have called the police and you could have been charged with indecent exposure. Or possibly, you could receive a charge for "disturbing the peace."

Oh, and the "my nudity was on my own property" is not a defense either. You can be nude or expose yourself if others can see it.

I agree with Donna, unless he saw you "committing" the act, I don't see how he can sue you. He's probably upset because you didn't invite him to the cook out!
