If the Automatic really DID write the song Monster, how come I remember it from when I was a little kid?

At first I thought it was me going mental but many people I know remember it too
are we in a timewarp?

If we are in a 'Timewarp, though, shouldn't we be doing the 'Monster Mash' instead?
