Hello everybody,

I have found today what it looked like a big spider maybe 5 cm long black color with white spots on the back. Instead of killing I tried to push it outside of the shed, but it turn around and it was baiting the stick that I was pushing it with. Finally I have got it out of the room I did not want to kill the thing but I just want to know what that was? And was it venomous or any dangerous?
It looks like a spider but without any hair on its legs and moving very quickly, I’m thinking maybe it was a big ant or something like that. Does anyone know what that could be?

It would definitely depend on where you stay. What country, what region. Eight legs, spider. Not eight then probably an innocent little creature that was merely protecting itself like we all do when in danger. Thank you for not killing it. Your poisonous spiders will either be rather bit with hair like the tarantula or it might be a small like the black widow. Black for female with hour glass (orange sort of colour) on stomach. Males are brown. 5cm - doe snot sound like a spider, not a black widow in any event. Sprry if I do not know what region you are from it is difficult to say.

I'd suggest going and taking a look at a field guide, I'm sure they have them on spiders....

By definition, being a spider, it's venomous, just the way it is. Is it venomous enough to make you sick? I dunno, because I don't know what kind of spider it was, but that field guide will... or you can try an online search... spiders and your geographic location.... that should probably get you started at least.

Good luck.

How many legs did it have? If it had eight, it was a spider, if it had six it was something else. Either way, it sounds creepy, you should have killed it.

Maybe it was a tick. Found some pics of ticks with a white spot on the back:
