The stories of rape of young children are unfortunately true. Virginity as a cure for AIDS is a relatively new version of an ancient belief that virginity cures venereal diseases. This belief survived in many parts of the world, not just in South Africa. Is there some truth in this belief? Not really, but a placebo effect is known to cure many conditions. Although, rape is a rape and murder is a murder, some people will stop at nothing to achieve a cure--blood from a murdered infant or baby's fat was supposedly curing tuberculosis, for example. Thank you for asking.

I'm a South African and I can assure you it's all true.
Over the the past week there has been 2 rapes and murders of girls younger than 11 that's been broadcasted on the local news - the sad thing is, there might be more happening out there that we're not aware of. I don't know where this belief came from, but the governments attempt to educate people who do believe this is failing.

There are two types of herpes simplex virus: HSV-1 and HSV-2. Both virus types can cause sores around the mouth (herpes labialis) and on the genitals (genital herpes). Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV).
Cold sores sometimes called fever blisters, are groups of small blisters on the lip and around the mouth. The skin around the blisters is often red, swollen, and sore. The blisters may break open, leak a clear fluid, and then scab over after a few days. They usually heal in several days to 2 weeks.
The herpes simplex virus usually enters the body through a break in the skin around or inside the mouth. It is usually spread when a person touches a cold sore or touches infected fluid—such as from sharing eating utensils or razors, kissing an infected person, or touching that person's saliva. A parent who has a cold sore often spreads the infection to his or her child in this way. Cold sores can also be spread to other areas of the body.
Luckly there is a cure for herpes https://tr.im/7b94d

It's a complete and total myth. There have never been, nor will there ever be, studies in child rape. This story was something that was propogated by pedophiles in order to try and justify a very heinous act. There are, by the way, tons of stories about how HIV came to be, but the one that comes closest to having any credence in science is that the virus was a mutation of a swine-flu vaccine that was administered in a 3rd-world country. Something caused the supposedly dormant swine-flu virus to mutate in a patient's bloodstream, and that patient became the first HIV sufferer. That might also be an urban myth, but as I said, it comes closest to being provable scientifically.
