I can see why some people feel that capital punishment is wrong, as it gives the government the ability to say who lives or dies. Indeed, there are many people who are convicted wrongly of crimes that they didn't commit, and thuse suffer needlessly.
However, on the flip side of the coin, I do believe that there are those who perform such horrid crimes, that the only punishment justifiable is death. For instance, in my state, a man convicted of abducting, raping and killing a young girl has just recieved the death sentence from the jury in his trial. As far as I'm concerned, people like him deserve the death penalty.

confident, I agree. The loss of life penalty violates the the perfect option to existence. it is the main suitable merciless, inhuman and degrading punishment. It has no place in a fashionable criminal justice device. An execution, in basic terms like torture, involves a planned attack on a prisoner. nevertheless-called 'humane' strategies which comprise deadly injection can entail excruciating suffering. Capital punishment is irrevocable. All judicial structures make errors, and as long because of the fact the loss of life penalty persists, harmless people would be achieved. it is likewise discriminatory and is frequently used disproportionately against the undesirable, the powerless and the marginalized, besides as against people whom repressive governments prefer to do away with. The loss of life penalty does not deter crime extra suitable than different punishments. In Canada the homicide fee has fallen by forty in keeping with cent when you consider that 1975; the loss of life penalty replaced into abolished for homicide in 1976.

It's wrong.
What about if the serial killer is intellectually disabled? Is not responsible for his or her actions? Like Richard Trenton Chase (The Vampire of Sacramento) who was suffering from Paranoid Schizophrenia, or Aileen Wuornos who was also Schizophrenia.
Or if the Pedophile is only acting out what was done to him/her when they were younger? Are we going to simply end their life which was filled with so much pain, or help them overcome their pain which led them to carry out their crimes?
No one should be punished by death, no matter what they have done, have faith that people are capable of bettering themselves.

An eye for an eye. I beleive in it totally. I also beleive if a person decapitated someone that's how they should die. Everyone should bring back public hangings, then people would start to think before they act. I never did see the point in giving the prisoners the "good" life in prison. They are there for a reason. The ones on death row,,,,no need to let them live,,,kill them then maybe it'll be one way to end the overcrowding in our systems.
