It happens every tournament, it seems : a 12 knocks off a 5. Who ya got this year?

Midwest : (5) Butler vs (12) Old Dominion
West : (5) Virginia Tech vs (12) Illinois
East : (5) USC vs (12) Arkansas
South : (5) Tennessee vs (12) Long Beach State

Choose one, tell me why, and the first person to nail their pick will earn 10 points.

In my bracket I actually picked Arkansas to upset USC and Old Dominion to upset Butler.

But the one more likely to happen in my opinion is Old Dominion over Butler. USC played solid this year in a somewhat contested Pac-10, and I think Butler was highly overrated coming from a mid-major conference with little talent. In my opinion, they didn't prove they can win as much as USC did.

But I still think both can happen. But Butler's more likely to lose if you ask me.

I have Old Dominion and Illinois.

Arkansas won't win because they'll suffer from tourney fatigue (they had to play their way in from the SEC).

Long Beach State won't win because they'll have no answer for Chris Lofton.

Old Dominion will win because they are getting hot at the right time, and Butler has peaked.

Illinois will win because Weber is a good coach and their team should have no problem with overrated Virginia Tech.

I haven't heard any "experts" talking too much about any team with upset potential of the four here except for Old Dominion. I have even heard a few say they think that the Monarchs could upset Maryland in the second round as well. I would have to agree with this analysis. They have beaten Georgetown, VCU and hammered Drexel not once but twice. So I would have to go with Old Dominion as the team with the best chance to upset among these four.

I have Old Dominion because they look pretty evenly matched to me, and I don't think Butler should be a 5 seed. More like an 11 or 12.

Arkansas will beat USC, USC was weak, although they were in a pretty damn good PAC-10 this year, I think Arkansas has the better all-around play, and played tough games against teams in the SEC

Illinois if they come to play has a chance as well
