1. Install Firefox as your browser. It is more effective at stopping pop-ups than just about anything else.

2. Uninstall Bearshare!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is LOADED with Adware and a complete nightmare. If you must use a P2P program then download Limewire Pro (by whatever means necessary) and remember to run anti-virus on everything you download.

After getting rid of Bearshare run Adaware and Spybot Search & Destroy. Both programs are free and will clear the mess up. Both programs do basically the same thing but will find different problems.
Alternatively get your hands on a copy of Spyware Doctor. The best there is in my opinion.

3. Try to learn about Torrents. "utorrent" as the downloader (very small and very efficient) and btjunkie.com or isohunt.com as the torrent search site.

You will thank me.

If you have not already scanned your comp with spybot http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html do that now .Update it and then run it so it gets rid of all the spyware and trojans in safe mode http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial61.html

bearshare has spyware in it.
If you do not have firefox get it now and use it instead of internet explorer so you dont get any more spyware http://securitynewsfromthenet.blogspot.com/

Start using torrents and bitcomet
