I'de really love to be a model, but I'm not quite sure where i go to make my dreams reality? I know there's agencies and schools but I really need to focus on my education, so I'de only be able to devote part of my time. Any suggestions, comments, or experiences to share?

their is no rule that says you need to be discovered by a scout. What you should do is call agencies and find out when they have casting's. Its best to go to as many agencies as you can.
Before you go...you should dress in something very simple...like a tshirt and slim fitting pants. take your hair out of your face.
You should also bring some basic snap shots of you in the same manner...simple clothes...no hair in the face.
Bring those to the agency along with a bathing suit or nice bra and underwear. If they want you they will know right away and you can discuss how much you want to work and what you want to do. their is no rule saying you have to work full time.
Although you should be atleast 5'9" and 34 24 34 (approx)... unless your plus size which is about a size 10
And dont wear a lot of make up either...make up is for ugly girls. Just some lil powder and mascara

From what I've managed to gather from my model friends, they don't proactively seek assignments and shoots et cetera. It's usually a fortuitous encounter with a talent scout that acts as the catalyst, propelling them into the modelling industry. These scouts usually roam about areas populated by teenagers and young adults, and even nightclubs. So I guess it's a matter of luck, and whether you possess the requisite height, looks and X-factor.
