I drive a 99 VW Beetle and for the past month I have noticed that after I turn my car off the fan would continue to run for a minute or two and then shut off. Two days ago my ac started making a weird noise and wouldn't get as cold and then the car would jump a little, like something was trying to come on. Yesterday while I was driving the car started to run hot. When I shut it off I noticed that the fan was not running after I shut it off like it had before. Please help! Thanks

Check your cars thermostat, that would account for overheating and your a/c not cooling properly. That's where I would start. It's about 75% chance i'm right!

first the fan runs after you turn off the car, then it runs hot and the fan no longer runs upon turning off the car?

first off, the fan is supposed to run for a minute or two after shut down. if it does not, and thew car is running hot, it's very likely that the fan failed and is causing an airflow problem

does the fan come on at all?

I suspect the fan or the fan's electrical system

could be a thermostat or the fan motor. my car's fan motor went once and made strange sounds. Take your car to a mechanic you trust and who won't take advantage of you not knowing much.

It sounds like a bad thermostat to me, better take your baby in and show it some love.
