My brother told me I could have half the proceeds if I can sell his Star Wars collection. He has the Darth Vader storage head, Ewok City, and about 100 little figure guys. Some are in decent shape, but most are "well loved," some with heads that got glued back on. I looked at ebay this morning and got discouraged. I found a place called forcecollectors.com that looks like it could be good. Does anyone know anything about this site? Or others like it?

Someone told me the last time I posted this that the "older more rare stuff" was the only ones that were worth money. These are original 70s-80s toys, and most likely the rare ones are in better shape, because like Luke and Lea and R-2 D-2 and them are the ones I remember him playing with.

I'm looking for collectors' sites. NOT ebay. these look like they're going for about $1 apiece there. I think we can do better.

He's my YOUNGER brother. HE played with these toys as a KID. How does this make me anywhere near a kid? READ the question before answering, people!

There are many Star Wars collector sites on the internet, but all collectors use similar standards for the condition of your collection. There are basically two types of buyers:
1. Many collectors, however usually prefer to buy their collectibles in the best condition they can find. This usually means being in mint condition included with or still in the original packaging. The fact that some have had their heads glued on doesn't help.
2. The other type of buyer, is a reseller- they need to be able to pay less for it than its worth, so that they can turn around and sell it for profit.
Your best bet might be to research their true value, and sell them directly to a collector- someone who intends to keep them.

You could always launch your own website, with lots of description and meta-tags, so that collectors who surf the web can find you. You could even do it with a freebie site if you don't mind your customers seeing ads, But you'd still have to find a way for people to pay you safely. Most folks won't send a check to kids, and they sure aren't going to give you their credit card numbers. That's why they stick with Ebay.

I think you'll find that collectors want toys that weren't played with. It sounds like your brother got his money's worth already, in the years of fun that he had.
