There is a circular argument that goes, "The moon is made of green cheese, because the moon is made of green cheese." Perhaps your daughter is not too young to start demanding a rational or scientific reason for things, without losing all the fun.
PS: I think it could be made of cheese because it seems to be covered with mouse holes.
