Because people get wrapped up in what is expected of them. They forget that the only reason for living is to be happy. Period. If what you do everyday doesnt make you happy, then what you are doing is wrong. Dont live your life waiting for the day when you can enjoy your life. Enjoy everyday.

It depends on how they look at it. Happiness is usually associated with fulfillment of desires. And as they say, desires never end. We expect too much from everything around us. When those benchmarks we create are not met, we tend to feel agitated, stressed, angry or sad. It is just a state of mind that one needs to alter.

either because they dont have one or that failure has pressed upon them and they feel they cant go on because nothing good will result from thier actions ,but just think even the smallest gesture is a goal in the right direction and there will be happiness at the end

Probably because most people here anyway are missing something in their life. God! Without God and Jesus in their life, things can be very unsatisfactory for anyone.
