A good place for cocktails into the late night is Princesa 23 (name = address). They usually have really cheap drink specials and there are lots of young English-speakers hanging out there.

Peublo espanol which is on your way up Montjuic becomes a pretty good night club when the stars come out. Also near Montjuic @ plaza espana, where the Catalunya National museum is located you have got to check out the magic fountains (light and sound show). The show runs from Fri-Sat in the winter. Definitely Las Ramblas and the Barrio Gotico are the places to be, but be careful...they also attract pick pockets and other seedy people...It's pretty dark particularly in all those little walkways of the Barrio Gotico so just keep your eyes peeled and go with a friend...As for eating...I would recommend stepping into the corner bakeries, delies or coffee houses - order flutas (they are cheap and delicious sandwiches made either with spanish cured ham and tomotoes or with tortilla espanola - omlette with potatoes - on thin baguettes.) Also if you get lost, a good landmark to look for is the department store El Corte Ingles (there is one at Plaza Catalunya which is pretty much the gateway to Las Ramblas, and another on Avenida Diagonal - and in fact, its worth going there as you can pick up a pretty good, informative map of the city . Anyway, check out the following site for more info: www.barcelona-online.com/see_barcelona.html. Enjoy this beautiful and lively city!

the two cities have an very shiny evening existence. I consider the guy who stated that Madrid is extra "exciting" in the experience that that's extra comfortable and the individuals are freindlier, looser. The Catalans are a touch a extra ... insular .... besides this is how they looked as though it might me. In Madrid i became in particular around the Puerta de Sol and there have been fairly considered one of those places that have been close to to a minimum of one yet another -- for Tapas, Dinner, Bars, Nightclubs and Discos. The nutrition is fairly good there additionally and that they fly in clean seafood from throughout Spain. Barcelona felt extra unfolded to me -- I rode the Metro lots extra there. Madrid on a Saturday evening is taken under consideration one of the peaks of all my journeys to Europe (alongside with BArcelona, Amsterdam, Brussels, London, Glasgow, Rome) the placement without sleep is authentic! additionally, i'm from manhattan city and that i consider that remark additionally, regarded extra worldwide than Barcelona. So I vote for Madrid, fantastically if it is your first holiday to Spain.

best places to hang out port olympico, las ramblas de mar, and barrio gotico. to eat try maremagnum ( a mall on ramblas de mar) and the ramblas has a few good places although might be more expensive. you can also try the barceloneta to eat there are some good restaurants on joan de borbo <-- name of street in the barceloneta. you can make new friends anywhere there. best places would be clubs though or bars. stay clear of sketchy places although it's hard to come across that.
