He has been hanging with some strange characters lately. They wear funny clothes and dont have decent haircuts. They smell of patchouli, and what's even worse...they drive a VW Minibus painted with day-glo flowers!

We found out he is going to some anti-American war protest in D.C. March 17th. These people are very organized, they even printed up flyers. That despicable Cindy Sheehan person is leading these kids down the wrong path!

She has already been arrested several times. She has been hosted by enemies of the USA like the Venezualan strongman, Hugo Chavez. That's sending a totally inappropriate message to young people...betray your country to "fit in" with the seemingly popular crowd of people, who will more than likely end up in the food service industry?

Is it too late to get him some help? Or will he just end up in jail like 'Baghdad' Cindy??

My condolences to you and your family. That must have been quite a shock. I think I would rather find out my son was gay than a liberal peace protester working with Cindy Sheehan and the rest of her Hollywood nitwit supporters.

Sounds to me like you're being very reactionary and prejudgmental. Your first comment insinuates that you believe that only those that are on drugs could disagree with the reasons for the Iraq invasion. I (and many of my friends that are Marines, currently serving or prior service) am not convinced that this war is in the best interests of our nation. Does this mean that we, too, are on drugs? Disagreeing with the government is not the same thing as being anti-American. Such a statement is intentionally inflammatory and willdo nothing to resolve any disputes, either nationally or in your own home. The Founding Fathers disagreed with the actions of their government, and even engaged in some illegal activities. Were they on drugs? Protest is essential. If there was an administration attempting to enact changes that you were completely opposed to (lets say, making all drugs legal and regulating their commerce), would you sit at home like a good little citizen, or would you speak your mind about how you feel? If you want to be allowed to protest when you disagree with a government action, then you have to allow others to do the same.

You say these people are well organized, so they must not be on drugs. Jesus was arrested, so that's not a very good indicator. Patchouli isn't illegal, and Donald Trump has a bad haircut. Cindy Sheehan's son died in a foreign war, would you prefer that your son did the same? Hugo Chavez and his oil program are doing more to help the disavantaged in the US, than the administration, but I guess you'd prefer that poor folks freeze to death. It's already happened where I live. And we're not talking "welfare people", we're talking older Americans - a lot of them white and formerly middle class.

Your son represents the majority opinion in this country, did you understand that last statement? The MAJORITY opinion.

So, I guess *you're* the one who needs help.

First of all your kid is a teenager so ofcourse he is on drugs. Second of all these chuds who go to these rallies are either college kids skipping out of midterms so they can give their parents they are falling at college or impressionable sheep who just follow whatever line of people that catches their eyes. And this Sheehan *****!! What a piece of work this broad is, Hannity had her on his radio show and chewed her up one side and down the other. talk about someone being used by the fanatic liberals as their puppet. she hosts these campouts outside of Bush's TX ranch, and she doesn't even stay with them. she stays at a Bed & Breakfast in town. If you have ever heard her talk to somebody that opposes the propaganda her handlers give her to spout out, you can tell she is an idiot. And the worst part, is that she is betraying the memory of her dead son. And people use her because of that.

She isn't a revolutionary, shes a mouthpiece for assholes like Michael Moore. Talk to your son, have him tell you what he thinks about the war, not what someone else tells him to think about it. I hate that our boys are over there and that even one of them had to die to free these people from the tyranical rule of Hussein. Especially since the majority of them will never thank us for our sacrifice. But some will and do.
It's easy to be against something like our occupation of Iraq, especially when you here our own politicians selling our troops out and calling them failures. Its easy for them because it isn't there kids over there just like it wasn't them over there when their number was called.

If you really want to help your son, introduce him to a soldier who has been over there or even better a family who has lost a child over there. he will see that Sheehan is in such a vast minority that it is immeasurable.

All the Best and good luck

Stay calm Frank. See if you can arrange to have him locked in a room for 24hrs with Cindy Sheehan. That will cure him.

Don't let him go. This protest may turn out to be violent. Some of the characters going are promising to do damage. I would also check his room for signs of drugs.

Quite possible and I would have him look into getting some psychiatric testing, he may be having some problems if he is following Ms. Sheehan

1. Give him a good talking too.
2. If he is in school just tell him not to go.
3. If he is over 18, boot him to the curb if he goes.

He is of an age when he is a rebel. Let him. This is part of his growing up. However watch him. Make sure he does not go overboard.
