I had an affair with a man a year ago. He kept records of our conversations. So he has proof of the affair. He wants to tell my husband and daughter. It's my own wrongdoing... But I am being constantly harassed. Should I call the police? And one more thing he's not in the USA but a small island called Taiwan. Will they extradite him, or can the taiwan officials arrest him? PLEASE HELP ME

If you involve the police it them become a public record and your family is going to find out anyway, so you need to tell you husband the truth and that eliminates the man's reason to blackmail you. If you pay the money the man will likely be back for more at a future date.

After you tell your husband, either change your phone number and get your number unlisted or get Call Block and Caller ID added to your phone if you do not already have them. Change internet providers and set up new accounts and only give out your new address to close personal friends. If you met the guy in a chat room, never visit that chat room againm, even with a new id.

You can report it to the police but there is little that they can do as the man lives in a foreign country and poses no immediate physical threat or danger to you or your family.

As Taiwan has does not have diplomatic relations or an extradition treaty with the United State, a call to Taiwan would be a waste of time and money.

Also, have yourself and your husband checked for STD and HIV.

Good luck.

I would tell the man to stop contacting you and then call the police and a lawyer. I am not sure of the ins/outs of it but I wouldnt think it would be legal for anyone from anywhere to harrass you. I would also consider telling your family b/c if you have to go this far, they are bound to find out. I would rather find out from a loved one than some other way....

There's no easy way to solve this thing with the normal tools.

So try using love to solve this! I mean, try magic -- you won't loose anything, right?

Read "Living on Love -- The Messenger" book by Klaus Joehle, while it's still online for free and begin sending love -- to yourself, to that guy, to your family.

And the situation will be cured in some way that is beneficial for everybody.

Blackmailing you? Personally I'd kill him and wouldn't loose any sleep over it. Forget the law, refuse to pay the jerk. Change your phone number(unlisted). New e-mail address for sure. But sure, try the police but don't hold your breath for any help. LEARN from this incident.

You asked this question several months ago and it went up for voting. Haven't you solved this problem by now?

Suck it up and confess before he has a chance to ruin you. At least leave with some dignity.
