Sometimes it is necessary because they may think they know how you are feeling but could be wrong. Telling them lets them know, it is validating - and besides who doesn't like to be told that they are loved?
Sure you can leave them guessing but it also leaves them out in the cold from a wonderful part of you.

wish i knew what you were talking about, if it's do you have to tell your mate you love them? why not makes them feel good and it really dont hurt much
