Charlie is a heroin addict and Desmond was an imprisoned soldier who seem to relish hitting the bottle. I am not Scottish but I couldn't help thinking that its giving them a bad reputation! What do you think?

Scottish people are the finest in the world. I think that they would have to go drag the prisons there to find those characters in real life.
Of course someone over there has made my opinion slightly biased.. but that's OK.

I dont think its unfair, there is only one scottish person in it, Charlie is english.
I think the portrayel of Sayid could be seen as much worse.

Scotts, Irish, and Italians have all gotten a bad rap. Because they are considered "white", it's supposed to be OK to malign the "majority" race.
Every time a "minority" race gets maligned, we get to hear from their support organizations. But because "white folks" don't have anything like that, you never get to hear the complaints.
Damn shame.
