What are RAR files? A RAR file is a type of archive that is used to contain data in a compressed form. If you download a RAR file from the internet or receive one through email, you will need a RAR extractor in order to access the data. With Alpha ZIP, you can extract RAR files as easily as if you were simply using Windows Explorer.
Alpha ZIP is the RAR extraction tool that can both create and extract a number of different compressed formats. Thanks to its unique level of Windows integration it enables you to do more in less time. With Alpha ZIP, you can open RAR files and other archives and browse them just like folders on your hard disk. Just locate the file in Windows Explorer, and double-click it - Explorer will then simply browse the file as if it were a folder. Unlike some other Zip and RAR extractors, Alpha ZIP will show all folders and subfolders correctly, in the way you are accustomed to from Windows Explorer.
As well as extracting RAR files, Alpha ZIP works with 7-zip, gzip, cab, tar and more. With an intuitive interface, handy email integration and easy file conversion between formats, this compression tool is the solution you're looking for.

In computing, RAR is a proprietary file format for data compression and archiving, developed by Eugene Roshal (hence the name RAR: Roshal ARchive). Some people mistakenly believe that RAR stands for "Russian ARchiver".
Roshal created the RAR file format, and developed programs for packing and unpacking RAR files, originally for DOS, which were later ported to other platforms. The main Windows version of the encoder, known as WinRAR, is distributed as shareware, but Roshal has released the decoder's source code under a license that allows free distribution and modification, on the condition that it is not used to build a compatible encoder. Although the encoding method is proprietary, compatible programs for decompression are available for several platforms, such as the open-source 7-Zip. Due to widespread confusion, there do not seem to be any open source implementations to decompress newer than version 2.0 RAR archives (7-zip uses a proprietary plugin under "unRAR license" for decompression).
So in essence you need to download the free Winrar then open the file. It works silmilar to zipping a file

Here is your answer me dear
WinRAR provides the complete support for RAR files, so you may both create and unpack them. If you installed WinRAR on your computer and downloaded RAR file from Internet, you may double click on RAR file icon to open it in WinRAR, select all files, press "Extract To" button, enter a destination path and press "OK". Another way is to click on the RAR file in Explorer using the right mouse button. If you enabled "Shell integration" option when installing WinRAR, the file context menu will contain "Extract to ..." item.
Some RAR files can be parts of multi-volume sequences. In WinRAR you can split a huge archive to a few smaller files, which are called volumes.
They may have extensions .rar (the first volume), .r00, .r01, ..., or .part1.rar (the first volume), .part2.rar, ..., etc. If you need to unpack volumes, place all them to the same folder and start extraction from the first volume

did u attempt to extract the report? rar is a compressed report, so u might desire to extract or decompress it to view the stuff interior it. or u can only acquire winrar. and attempt to open it with out extracting it... i'm hoping that helps. in the different case.. u might desire to easily use a customary computing device and only convert it on there and only use a USB to get the video onto the mac. :)
