Social Darwinism is the *misapplication* of the theory of Natural Selection (which is purely about *biological* evolution) to human societies.
In its most basic form, social darwinism predates Darwin ... but many people have subsequently used Darwin's name to give some credibility to a bad theory. In its most extreme form, it has been used to justify racism, eugenics, and even genocide.
But in all cases, Social Darwinism has almost nothing to do with Darwin.

Natural selection is about the survival of the fittest. Social Darwinism is a catch-all term to describe the idea that biological theories can be used to show how societies work and develop. Although the term wasn't used until after Darwin became famous (surprise!) the idea pre-dates him.

Darwin developed the theory of natural selection, while others used his idea to develop another theory- social darwinism.
Darwin explained that in a ecosystem, the better adapted organisms survive while the others die off.
With this, others thought that they could use this idea to explain why Europeans dominated the world. They were "better" and "more adapted", "stronger", "smarter", etc.
probably the root of most prejudice and racism
the idea of social darwinism has been disproved. it is said that the human race has evovled beyond natural selection. nowadays, in many cases we see people helping each other survive.

Social Darwinism used Darwin's idea of natural selection to advocate sterilization of those people who were less fit. The less fit included, the disabled and those with certain diseases. The premise of Social Darwinism was used to advocate racism and was used by the Nazis to justify their slaughter of Jews, the mentally disabled, and homosexuals.
