I do not think Caucasians are any better than anyone else, or any other ethnicity for that matter. The biggest causes of racism are stereotypes, lack of communication, and culture. Every part of the world has aspects of racism; whether it be skin color, culture, or religion.
As for the US, I think the media as a whole are keeping racism alive and well. People see images of certain ethnic groups creating acts of violence, and it justifies their own racist thoughts. Then of course law enforcement , to calm down the public, arrest more individuals of smaller ethnic groups. Smaller ethnic groups then grow a hatred of the larger groups. Then to try to counter this, the government creates programs and holidays specifically for the smaller groups, only putting fuel to the fire. Then of course a law is created called a " Hate Crime", one group committing an act against another because of hatred. Which of course backfires. A crime is a crime regardless of the motive.
So, racism can end only by teaching our children that all races are equal, media is propaganda, and the government doesn't know what is best for the general public.

Apparently the user Tom thinks he has to post on every thread that has anything to do with Native Americans. It is the same post over and over, doesn't even answer users question. So I am trying to counterindicate his postings.
The truth is the land bridge theory is just that, A THEORY. There is actually more evidence to disprove the theory than there is to prove it. The evidence this user is citing is extremely controversial. The website he provides is also very controversial. For more information please read "Red Earth White Lies".
And to respond to your question. It is a scary and brutal history. Until people are willing to acknowledge this history we won't be able to heal and move forward.

"Native" Americans are not native to this continent at all. DNA testing proves once and for all that Indians are merely Asians who followed the land bridge. (This is why Indians have a mongoloid-shaped, Asian skull and black hair.)
The oldest known remains ever found in both north and south America are that of Kennewick Man, found along the banks of the Columbia River. Kennewick man was white not Indian/Asian.
When the white man arrived for a second time to the Americas they found that the Indian/Asians hadn't yet invented the wheel and regularly practiced cannibalism.
White folks created the greatest, freest and most prosperous society the world has ever known.

It's a question I don't think we'll ever be able to answer...I personally would like to know when and how whites acquired that nasty superiority complex and drive to invade and conquer other lands and people... Something had to have been the root cause of that mindset...

Those are very extreme circumstances. Most whites aren't into world dominance. All races have conflict. Don't dwell on the past, my friend.
