Legally, heres what you must do:-
If the squatters leave the premises unoccupied for any length of time you can enter to take possession. Most experienced squatters however will make sure they leave somebody in the property at all times!
If the squatters refuse to leave you have to get a court order to evict them which can take a long time.
The unofficial way which worked when my mate had squatters in his flat was to send my attack-trained alsatian into the property via a window and when the squatters all run out then you can enter to take possession
Remember that if you just enter and throw them out they can have you charged with assault!

This is a case involving the law of "Adverse Posession." In most jurisdictions the trespassor must occupy the property for an unbroken period of time openly and in a manner hostile to the title of the true owner. Some states add a requirement that the trespassor pay taxes due on the property.
If the above are met, a legal action can be brought to acquire title to the property under a theory of adverse posession. What the owner must do is interrupt the chain of
posession at some point, the earlier the better, or, the owner
can rely on an action to quiet title. Not a good idea.

Squatters rights apply to unoccupied premises if you leave your home for two weeks hols that is not an unoccupied property and if it is illegal to break in thats criminal damage(the offence of breaking and entering went out with the Larceny Act in 1968)You would sensibbly call the police and if these persons had taken anything of yours then they have committed burglary.Squatters rights have also been ruled by the court of human rights to be a breach of the human rights of the owner (uk)

Call the police and have them arrested immediately.
Bring your bat along and cook some fish in your house.
Turn the music up, way up and walk naked through all
rooms along with Jake the Pooch (pit bull) who is working on his obedience but not a good student of bite/no bite.
That is a risk for the squatter.

If the police won't do it, maybe you and some friends can show them the error of their ways.Wouldn't fly at my house. They'd be saying hello to Mr. Shotgun. He's the bouncer in my house if they don't talke the hint.
I'm sure many will say "how awful!!". Guess what ? Tried the nice guy thing(not about this) and it DOESN'T work. There's no being reasonable with someone who insists on being an as

Squatters are not allowed to enter lock-fast premises, so if they break a door or window to gain entry then they would be charged with breaking and entering.
If you went away and left your doors and windows open the burglars would probably close them on their way out.
