if they call on first time they will ask do u have a tv if u say no they will ask to come in ,if you say no they can't barge in although will get something like a warrant ,if the tv is in a bedroom just show them the living room and say you don't have one most tvs are in the living room so they see you don't have one.

I think they will probably get the police and force their way in. And that would look very bad against you in court. But I would take the circuit board out of the T.V and hide in the loft or something, then you could show him the broken T.V. that CANNOT recieve the bbc signal and therefore does not need a licence

They don't have to enter your home....If you don't register as having a licence, they will call at your home...They will be very polite in the hope that you show them into your house....But that's not really necessary......If they do not enter, they simply come back another day with a scanner van....That's when your trouble starts.!!! because the first time they come they will just tell you to get a licence and smack your hand......But if the scanner comes out ......."YOUR NICKED"

They have no authority to enter without a warrant.

They also have difficulty in accepting that people might not have a TV. They tend to treat people as guilty until proven innocent.

i havent had a TV licence for over 5 years,

as long as you do not receive broadcast television they cannot prosecute you for other uses of a TV.
(i use mine for watching DVDs and playing PS2)

simply reply to the licence reminder witha letter informing them that you do not receive broadcast TV.

I've heard they've employed Ninja Stealth Assassins to deal with the problem!

In my experience they have no powers to enter your home.
They can only do so if you invite them in.

As I understand it, if they can't see a TV in your home, they can't insist on entry. Otherwise, you're on your own!
