icci is making a mockery by letting a canada or a holland play the world cup...imagine india playing the football world cup....
they are actually letting the standard come down ....
there should be a rule that if a team need to pay x number of odi's in the last 2 years before world cup and there should be rankings like now and a team with atleast 20% wins only should be allowed to play world cup.....keniya is the only new team which can be considered ..even bangaladesh is a waste....

many of the answers are just for the sake of answering no understand neither quality ... now adding to the hollands poor performance what you specialists got to say about bermudas screw up.....nobody is intererested..you buggers are killing the game...some body was talking sense 10 teams again i am not sure about the 10th team..football dude get your facts in place there are 200 nations where football is popular.....and getting 32 teams ....for w cup is not diff.. the standard is far more superior compaired to the cric w cup... i guess a TN or even a orissa ranji team is better than the last 4-5 teams playing this w-cup....india should play with 7 players just 7 and can beat any of these 6 teams( irfan munaf sreeshant harbajan karthik yuvraj dhoni ..thats enough rest can rest)

It get boarding if only one or 3 teams win all the team.
The other team make up the numbers, but at least by playing there hope of improvement.
My grandmother told me the wheel always turns so maybe you don't know holland might became a team everyone trying to beat. It takes a lucky win and some talent sports children to start having cricket hero and a good coach.

I would like to see only 10 teams in the world cup and every team plays each other. Then semis and final, with the final best of 3. That allows the best 2 of the weaker nations.

We all agree that we want to see competitive cricket, but you have to remember that in our countries cricket is regarded as the no 1 sport and in these countries, cricket enjoys a less favourable attention. The players from these so called mi-no countries are almost all amateur players and who's to say a Ponting or Kallis is not waiting to be discovered and scooped up by a county side in England.
And i am sure the player from the big team don't mind, cause their averages benefit immensely, who wouldn't want to be the player with the best average.

How about in the football world cup only allowing the top ten teams?
How about in the Olympics not letting people from small countires in...they're never going to win anyway.
That's daft. Yes, the small teams aren't going to win the world cup. But they're never going to improve unless they get the chance to play at the top level.
As for Scotland's result against Australia...yes, we lost by 203 runs, but I think for us to have made 132 against Australia is bloody fantastic!

It is almost like that only, just for fun they have included all other teams, u can find the second round where there will be only those 8 teams.
It is the matter of encouraging the minnows, and populraising the game.

i don't agree with you, cricket is not popular worldwide so we are giving these lesser teams a chance to develope and play the game. how can they develope if we dont let them play against the big teams. when bangladesh just started they were being beaten by every team but now they are improving everytime they play a big team.

i dont agree with u. this is a worldcup game and opportunities should be given whether it is holland, bangladesh or whatever may be the team, whether strong or loose. every team has a hidden talent and this can be shown through a game. and they are given achance and let them prove. even kenya has proved that they have the ability by beating many strong teams better than them.
