It's Randy's initials, Randall Keith Orton. It has also been called "Randy's Knock Out," but it's main meaning is Randy's initials. Here is a little history for you if you didn't know, Randy got the move because the WWE wanted him to have a finishing move and he had made friends with Diamond Dallas Page so DDP suggested using his move so Randy does use it, but out of respect for DDP he modified it to make it his own so his would be different from DDP's in order for DDP's version to still be known as the "Diamond Cutter." I hope that answers your question.

I agree with those who said DDP did it better. You better believe the Diamond Cutter owned the RKO. Just because he utilized it from so many positions, and he would throw it on out of nowhere. It was much more exciting.

This question seems amply answered, but I wanted to add a note about the diamond cutter. Not only was the diamond cutter cooler because it came out of nowhere, it was cooler because NOONE got up from it. (until WWE days)
When DDP won the battle bowl (like a rumble but you can pin or submit your opponent also), here's how it went down...
4 guys in the ring. One of them was DDP. DDP hits the Diamond Cutter on guy number 1. Before he can cover guy two and him start fighting. They fight for maybe 30 seconds before *BANG* Diamond Cutter to guy number 2. Uh oh, here comes guy number 3. They fight for another 30 seconds.... *BANG* Diamond Cutter. DDP covers guy number 3.... 1, 2, 3. Then he crawls over to guy number 2 who has been laying there for a long while (at least 33 seconds) 1, 2, 3. Now he crawls over to guy number 1 (who has been there for probobly 1:15) 1, 2, kickout. Match goes for another 5 mins, *BANG* 1,2, 3.
It was really cool. Trust me.

Randy Keith Orton- Randy's full name and initials.
Before that, everyone thought it stood for Randy Knock Out, which does make sense.
